MiltownMoms.com - The Milwaukee Family Resource You'll Keep Coming Back To!
Milwaukee and the surrounding communities are filled with family-friendly activities and places to visit. Milwaukee has so many hidden gems and spotlight locations!

Thanks to Calie Herbst, navigating Milwaukee for families is a lot easier. Calie founded MiltownMoms.com, and we absolutely love this resource.

Recently we chatted with Calie about Miltown Moms. Here’s what she shared with us!

Tell us about Miltown Moms. Why did you start it?

MiltownMoms.com is a place for parents to go to find fun things to do with their kids in the Milwaukee area.

On the website you’ll find:

I started it back in 2013 when I was working as a high school Spanish teacher, and I was planning out my summer vacation to spend with my one-year-old. I love to plan fun adventures, so I was poring over website after website trying to put together a fun calendar for us. I figured there should be one place for parents to go to find fun things to do with their kids. And other parents agreed!

Our Facebook page grew quickly, I started up the website, and the rest is history.

What are your top 3 events or places families should attend/visit in Milwaukee?

I can’t choose just three events, because there are honestly too many, and it depends on the season we are in.

The obvious large attractions have amazing offerings for kids that some people don’t know about (for instance, story time in the gallery at the Milwaukee Art Museum, free science shows in the summer at Discovery World).

But for the sake of the game, I’m going to stay away from the obvious places, and keep the locations within the bounds of the actual city of Milwaukee:

Urban Ecology Center-Riverside Park

Bounce Milwaukee

Central Library

How can I be updated about goings-on?

Do you have any tips or ways to save money on events/places to visit in Milwaukee?

I published an e-book “250 free things to do around Milwaukee” that you can download for free when you subscribe to the newsletter. It’s packed with ideas for every season and every interest!

I also have a book that just came out called “Exploring Milwaukee with Kids” that will be 200 color pages of fun ideas for families. It is available on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.

Anything else we should know about Miltown Moms?

It’s run with love by a team of people who love adventure and want to bring their kids along for the fun. 🙂

A special thanks to Calie Herbst of MiltownMoms.com for her collaboration on this article.
